Purpose and Outcomes

Purpose

The goal of the district data team is to improve programs and practices across all areas for all students. The team will engage in data-driven decision-making dialogue that includes data collection, data analysis, development of focused goals and strategies, and establishing a monitoring and feedback cycle. Specifically, the District Data Team will function as the “guiding alliance” that implements, monitors, evaluates, learns, supports and reports on the district’s progress regarding instructional improvement as evidenced by student performance. The District Data Team will yield many benefits. Some of the benefits will be:

·         a coordinated and common approach to district wide strategies;

·         a focus on a limited number of strategies; allowing the district to achieve deep, meaningful levels of implementation;

·         a transparent process that is communicated to all stakeholder groups in an appropriate manner; and

·         long-term sustainability through the implementation of a carefully designed model.

 The process for developing and sustaining our District Data Team:
Members of the DDT represent a cross-section of K-12 teachers, administrators, special education and special area staff.  The team meets for two hours each month; or approximately 8x per year with regard to holidays and shortened months. The DDT launches each year building capacity to engage in DDDM work.  The Annual Scope and Sequence Plan (Table 1.0) represents an annual outline of DDT meetings, including objectives and timelines.
